Considered by many as Australia’s best driver of the modern era, Gavin Lang drove his first winner as a sixteen year old at Kilmore in 1975 and hasn’t stopped since.  

 

 The winner of over 6000 races, he has become known as 'Group 1 Gav' with his ability to win Group 1 races across Australasia. Four times Australia’s leading driver and leading Metro driver, he was the winningest driver at Moonee Valley with 1029 winners including the last race held at the Valley.

 

 He was awarded the Distinguished National Service Medal in 2012 and was also inducted into the Victorian Harness Racing Hall of Fame in 2013.
