Neville Gath was the first of the Gath brothers to hit the big time as a reinsman when he won the Victorian Metropolitan Drivers Premiership in 1965-66, 1966-67 and again in 1968-69.   

 

 During that period Gath won three consecutive Australasian Trotters Championships with Sugar N Spice and Tinmine which he also trained.

 

 He piloted Maori Miss (dam of the great Maoris Idol) to two Inter Dominion heat wins. He also won the Victoria Derby and Sires with National Gold and he trained and drove Single Again when runner up in the 1980 Inter Dominon. 

 

 In 2010 he was inducted into the VHRMA Hall of Fame
