A former South Australian who relocated to Victoria in 1995 Ross Sugars won an amazing 13 consecutive metro driving premierships in an era of strong and competitive racing at Globe Derby Park between 1975 and 1987. He was also the first Sth Aust driver to notch up a century of winners in a season.

  

 Ross drove in excess of 2,500 winners, and has trained more than 1,600,  is still training Group One winners, most of them driven by his son Greg who won the Melton drivers premiership in 2012.
