5th September Bendigo: Exciting Bettors Delight-Life Inthefastlane filly Its Beaujolais was a dominant winner of the Alabar Vicbred Home Grown Classic for Three Year Old Fillies (Heat 1) over 1650 metres. Trained at Melton by Maree and John Caldow, Its Beaujolais driven by John raced exposed from gate four as Soho Gloria Jane led from gate two. Cruising to the front on the final bend, Its Beaujolais scored by 9 metres in advance of Minika from mid-field, with Secret Identity (three back the markers) third a half neck away. The mile rate 1-55.9.

8th September Cranbourne: Fred Crews and partners snared the Hyland Country Colous Pace over 2080 metres with Kiwi bred 4Y0 Bettors Delight-Splendid Dreams gelding Ultimate Me in a mile rate of 2-03.3. Trained at Bolinda by Brent Lilley, Ultimate Me with Chris Alford in the sulky was taken back from gate six to closer to last than first in the moving line with rank outsider Blue Chipped leading from the pole. Going forward in the final circuit three wide on the back of Tryna Portray, Ultimate Me despite making the final bend very wide, swamped his rivals in the straight to record a 4.5 metre margin over Greshar along the sprint lane off a mid-field passage. Penny Bobbins (one/two) was third 2.1 metres back.

9th September Maryborough: Fully American bred 7Y0 Yankee Glide-Fashion Tango mare Argentine Tango trained by Bolinda’s Alison Alford and driven by husband Chris, landed the Volstead USA Stallion Tender Trotters Mobile over 2190 metres. Raced by Phil Walshe and Peter Judd, Argentine Tango endured a chequered passage from gate four, racing exposed at one stage before easing to the marker line, then easing away from the inside in the final circuit to give chase to the leader Fields Of Kyvalley which went off stride approaching the final bend. This left Argentine Tango in front on turning and when Majestic Devil (one/two) made a charge in the straight she looked likely to be gathered in. Showing great heart, Argentine Tango kept on giving and giving to the wire and in a tricky finish, just lasted by a half head, with Celtic Rose (three back the markers) third 11.6 metres away in third place. It was Argentine Tango’s 7th victory in 35 outings, returning a mile rate of 2-04.7.

14th September Melton: Its Beaujolais made a meal of her rivals when taking the $50,000 1720 metre Alabar Vicbred Home Grown Classic in a rate of 1-55.2. Gaining a beaut run through the field from gate two on the second line to possie three back in the running line, John Caldow set the filly alight racing for the bell to join the pacemaker Soho Gloria Jane, before striding clear hitting the back straight. Always coasting, Its Beaujolais greeted the judge 3.6 metres clear of Soho Gloria Jane which safely held down second without looking dangerous. Itz Longtall Sally ran home late from a mile back for third 10.6 metres away.

17th September Yarra Valley: Four year old Somebeachsomewhere-Resonante gelding Glenledi Boy raced by the Braeside No-2 Syndicate which includes Terry Suhan and Len Petch was successful in the Yarra Valley Toyota Pace over 1650 metres. Trained at Drouin by Gary and Debbie Quinlan, Glenledi Boy driven by Chris Alford was quickly away from inside the second line and finished brilliantly off a mid-field trip to record a runaway 13.2 metre margin over Fakes First and Ol Titch in a mile rate of 1-56.4.

22nd September Ararat: Merv Butterworth’s 8Y0 Jeremes Jet-Frostyanna gelding Frostyflyer had an easy victory in the 2195 metre Ararat Cup Night 21 2020 Pace. Trained and driven by Kerryn Mamming, Frostyflyer led throughout from gate three to easily account for Madazalways which raced outside him by 7.5 metres in a rate of 2-02.4. Whatajetstar was third 4.4 metres back after trailing the winner.

26th September Kilmore: The gruelling MC Labour (Group 3) $25,000 2019 Kilmore Trotters Cup over 3150 metres brought great delight to both Bill Hutchison, Rob Molloy and Robert Blanche as part-owners of the winner Cruisin Around. Trained by lBolinda trainer Brent Lilley, Cruisin Around a 7Y0 Bacardi Lindy-Cloud Chaser gelding driven by Chris Alford stepped cleanly from outside the front line to settle three back in the moving line as rank outsider Starlight Storm led from barrier two. Although right off the track on the final bend, Cruisin Around ran home strongly to prevail by 3.2 metres from Magicool (one/one), with backmarker Maori Law running home late off a three wide double trail on the back of both placegetters for third a head away. The mile rate 2-05.1 (last half 58.5 – quarter 29).

26th September Kilmore: Peter Judd’s Bensud Standardbreds were successful with 5Y0

American Ideal-Hectic mare Emerging Talent in the C & M Build Group Pace Final over 1690 metres. Spending most of the race at the rear after starting from the extreme draw, Emerging Talent trained by David Aiken and driven by Kima Frenning ran home stylishly (four wide home turn) to defeat Fakes Best which joined the leader and third placegetter Shecandoit on the home turn. The margins 1.1 X 3.5 metres in a mile rate of 1-57.8.
