Mark Purdon

2017 Inductee

MARK PURDON has rewritten the record books as a trainer-driver of champions, and now joins his father Roy and brother Barry as a Living Legend

Driving his first winner in 1982, Mark's first big success was in the 1991 Interdominion aboard Mark Hanover who was actually named after Mark. Since then he has had multiple wins in just about every big race on both sides of the Tasman

Horses of the ilk of trotters Pride Of Petite, Buster Hanover and I Can Doosit sit alongside champion pacers Il Vicolo, Auckland Reactor, Adore Me, Smolda, Our Waikiki Beach and probably his best ever pacer Lazarus

No Australasian stable of either code – let alone International - can boast the kind of trophy haul with Group 1 victories that Mark Purdon and his All Star Stables has produced. In fact during the last 3 seasons Mark has had 143 starters in Australia for 87 winners, and 35 placings for a total of $4.75m in stake money
