1st August: Peter Judd was successful with Mach Three - Modern Girl filly Emerging Force in the PRD Nationwide Mildura 3Y0 Pace over 2190 metres at Mildura. Trained in South Australia by Justin Brewin and driven by Wayne Hill, Emerging Force racing under the banner of Benstud Standardbreds led throughout from gate 5, accounting for Velox Equus from mid-field by 5.5 metres in a slick 2-00.9, with Rebeccas Art a neck away in third place after trailing the winner

3rd August: Peter Svanosio was a winner at Maryborough when Nine Mile Cruiser a 4Y0 daughter of Bacardi Lindy - Puerto Bonus snared the Alf & Glad Leech Memorial Trotters Handicap for T1 or better class over 2190 metres. Trained and driven by son Chris, Nine Mile Cruiser enjoyed a beaut trip one/one from 10 metres and finished too well for the pacemaker Nica Macdonon to score by a neck, with Tella Tall Tale 6.9 metres back in third place after following the leader - mile rate 2-05.7

13th August: Father Brian Glasheen’s home bred Courage Under Fire - Bit Of A Gem 4Y0 mare Be Not Afraid landed the St Ronans Cider Vicbred Pace for C1 class over 2150 metres at Yarra Valley in a mile rate of 1-59.3. Driven by Craig Demmler for Parwan trainer Phil Chircop, Bit Of A Gem began with plenty of dash from gate four as Villareal inside her began equally as well to lead into the first turn. Crossing to the front shortly after, Bit Of A Gem was always travelling under a tight rein, leaving her rivals standing on turning to score by 7.2 metres over Villareal, with Manbar Duke (three wide last lap from the rear) third a half head away

14th August: Kevin Riseley’s Bettors Delight - Lughnasadh 3Y0 gelding Beltane trained at Shepparton by Patrick Ryan snared the Saddleworld Shepparton 3Y0 Pace over 2190 metres at Shepparton. Given a sweet trip from outside the front line by Anthony Butt trailing the leader Cullens Legend (gate three), Beltane used the sprint lane to perfection, defeating Loyola Trios (one/two) by 2.4 metres, with Loyola Trios holding down third 1.6 metres away - mile rate 2-00.1

18th August: John Dorrington’s ever reliable home bred Courage Under Fire - Pareen gelding Smokey Quartz racing under the banner of Dorro Nominees Pty Ltd chalked up his 20th victory in 90 outings by brilliantly winning the $14,000 Rega Pumps & Sprayers Pace for L5+ class over 1609 metres at Menangle (NSW). Trained on course by KerryAnne Turner and partner reinsman Robbie Morris, Smokey Quartz was outstanding, coming from near last in a final quarter of 27.7 right down the outside fence to prevail by 1.1 metres in a rate of 1-53.5 from Parramatta and Outrageous El

20th August: 4YO Skyvalley -Aldebaran Breeze mare Breezin Around raced by a big syndicate including Bill Hutchison and Rob Molloy was successful in the Newspot Motor Group Trotters Discretionary for 3Y0 and older at Globe Derby Park Adelaide. Trained by Ryan Hryhorec, driven by Danni Hill Breezin Around did everything right and despite racing uncovered from the bell, proved too strong at the finish for Son Of Rani and Stuey D in a rate of 2-07.9

26th August: Peter Watkinson shared in a winner when 4Y0 Four Starzzz Shark - Sahara Miss gelding Starofsahara greeted the judge in the 1790 metre Lisa Miles & Betty Lewis Pace for C2 & C3 class at Warragul. Trained at Drouin by Gary & Debbie Quinlan, Starofsahara (Chris Alford) was given the run of the race from inside the second line following the poleline leader Mygoldengrinner. Using the sprint lane, Starofsahara was able to blowse the leader in the shadows of the post, scoring by a neck in a rate of 1-57.1. Baccarat was third 2.2 metres back after trailing the pair.
